Cinders and Safeco Warning Track Mix
Cinders are the shale, sandstone, clay and siltstone, fired reddish hues by the intense heat from having combusted in historic coal slag piles. Most cinder products weigh approximately one ton per cubic yard, but weights can vary with the seasons. The 3/4” cinders are primarily used for driveways and decorative landscaping. The 1/4” cinders are primarily used for walking paths and running tracks. We created Safeco Warning Track cinders, a mix used for warning tracks on baseball outfields, but also great for shot put areas. Our 3/8” red cinder chips make a fine surface for walking paths. We also sell 1” – 3” cinder rock where a larger rock is desired for decorative purposes. Please call about other lightweight cinder products for specialty fill jobs.

The Safeco Mix weighs approximately one ton per cubic yard and is highly desired as a warning track and shot put area material both for its distinctive color and its quality of being lightly packed.
